Coldwater Creek Meats is the direct-to-customer meat brand of Sadie’s Sunset Farms, a family-run farm in Alto, Michigan dedicated to raising animals the right way — on pasture, with care, and without shortcuts. 

The Farm Behind the Meat: Sadie’s Sunset Farms

Sadie’s Sunset Farms is where the work actually happens.

It’s where our cattle graze open pasture, our animals are handled calmly and consistently, and decisions are made based on long-term land  and animal health — not speed or volume. The farm is named for Sadie, whose curiosity and love for all things God has created first sparked our commitment to responsible farming and stewardship. 

How Our Meat Is Raised (and Why It Tastes Better)

We don’t rely on buzzwords. We rely on disciplined practices:

Pasture-based raising: Animals live outdoors with space to move, graze, and grow naturally. Low stress = better meat.

Thoughtful beef finishing: Our beef is grass-fed and carefully grain-finished combined with genetics selected for flavor, structure, and temperament — not speed. 

Slow growth, proper aging: We let animals finish when they’re ready and ensure beef is properly aged before it ever reaches your freezer.

Hands on oversight: From pasture to processing, our family stays involved at every step.
